Prof. Zvi Mark, a research fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute, was born in Jerusalem and studied at Netiv Meir Yeshiva. He completed his army service while studying at Har Etzion Yeshiva in Alon Shevut. He earned his doctorate in Jewish literature from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Professor Mark specializes in Jewish thought and contemporary Hebrew literature and teaches at Bar-Ilan University and Yaakov Herzog College. His publications include Mysticism and Madness: The Religious Thought of Rabbi Nachman of Bratslav, The Scroll of Secrets: The Hidden Messianic Vision of R. Nachman of Breslav, and Revelation and Rectification in the Revealed and Hidden Writings of Rabbi Nachman of Bratslav.
He has published various articles on Hassidism and contemporary Hebrew literature. He is now working on a new version of a complete volume of Rabbi Nachman of Bratslav stories and a study on the work of the Poetess Zelda.
