Jordanna Amsel is the Director of Development for Israel Programs at the Shalom Hartman Institute, where she focuses on development strategy for Institute programs based in Israel as well as serving as a bridge with North American funders and lay leaders. She also serves as Director of the Community Leadership Program, where she leads and designs an intensive annual seminar for lay leaders, Hartman learners and philanthropists to strengthen and expand their intellectual horizons, enabling them to respond more meaningfully to the issues and challenges facing Jewish life today. Prior to this she served as Senior Development Officer for the Institute in North America.
She earned a BA in Public Policy and Social Justice from the Gallatin School for Individualized Study of New York University. While at NYU, she received both a President’s Service Award and an Exemplar of Excellence from the Bronfman Center for Jewish Student Life. Jordanna is an alumnus of the Wexner Graduate Fellowship and a Davidson Scholar, and completed a dual master’s degree program in Nonprofit Management and Judaic Studies at NYU.
Previously, Jordanna worked at the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, primarily focused on expanding PJ Library.
She was born and raised in New York and recently moved to Jerusalem with her husband, son, and daughter.
