Director of Teen and Educational Initiatives

Rabbi Jessica Fisher is the Director of Teen and Educational Initiatives at the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America, where she leads Hartman’s work with high school students and develops educational and ritual resources for rabbis, educators, and the broader community. Jessica previously served as Director of Rabbinic Enrichment at the Institute. 

Jessica has a degree in history from Columbia University and a degree in midrash from the Jewish Theological Seminary, where she also received rabbinic ordination and a master’s degree. Before joining the team at Hartman, she served as a rabbi at Beth El Synagogue Center in Westchester, New York, where she created a regional supplemental high school program for Jewish teens. Jessica also launched and directed the Chicago Diller Teen Fellows. During rabbinical school, she worked at Camp Ramah in the Berkshires, multiple congregations, and as a chaplain.  

Jessica is a fourth generation Cincinnatian and until she can find a way to move back there, she will be living with her family in Greensboro, North Carolina.
