Hizky

Shoham

Research Fellow

Prof. Hizky Shoham is a Research Fellow of the Kogod Research Center at the Shalom Hartman Institute, and  a senior lecturer at the Interdisciplinary Program for Hermeneutics and Cultural Studies at Bar-Ilan University.

He earned his PhD, Summa Cum Laude in 2007 from the interdisciplinary program for hermeneutics and cultural studies, Bar-Ilan University, and between 2008 and 2010 he was a postdoctoral associate in the Program for Judaic Studies, Yale University.

His book Carnival in Tel Aviv: Purim and the Celebration of Urban Zionism had recently been published by Academic Studies Press, and His Hebrew book Let’s Celebrate! Festivals and Civic Culture in Israel had recently been published by the Israel Democracy Institution.
