On July 15, 2013, Shlomit Harrosh debated Jonathan Rosenblum about the value and meaning of the legislative proposal to institute full military conscription for young Israelis, in essence, ending the special exemption that ultra-Orthodox men and women have had since the beginning of the State of Israel.

Harrosh stated that the legislation would perform an important social function and that sharing the burden equally would strengthen Israeli democracy. Rosenblum replied that the bill would have no significant practical effect and would, in fact, reverse movement in the haredi community toward participation in Israeli society.
