Cochav Elkayam-Levy Awarded Israel Prize

Hartman senior fellow and rights expert awarded Israel Prize for bringing attention to Hamas crimes against women.

Hartman senior research fellow and human rights expert Cochav Elkayam-Levy has been awarded the Israel Prize for solidarity for her work bringing attention to Hamas’s crimes against women and children in the October 7 atrocities. In December 2023, she met with senior White House officials in Washington, DC, including Jennifer Klein, assistant to the president and director of the gender policy council. The prize will be award at a ceremony on May 14, 2024.

“It is with great privilege that we work to raise awareness and give voice to the silenced victims and families whose lives were shattered by the October 7th atrocities,” she says in a statement released by Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where she is a human rights law expert. “We must stand firm against the stark denial and the increasing tide of antisemitism.”
