With SHI President Rabbi Dr.
Donniel Hartman, SHI-North America President Dr.
Yehuda Kurtzer, and Dr.
Melila Hellner-Eshed, participants unpacked ideas relating to Jewish Ethics and Jewish Power, including how we relate to power, use it, and limit it both as Jews in North America and under sovereignty in Israel.
Tuesday morning the intimate group was joined by more than 100 members of the Wood River Jewish Community for the inaugural Wood River Jewish Community Bronfman Scholar lecture given by Rabbi Dr. Donniel Hartman.

In addition to the extraordinary learning, participants enjoyed the spectacular natural wonders of the area (such as the Wood River Hot Springs), opening night of the world-famous Sun Valley Symphony, and dinner in a private home with a special presentation from Ambassador Daniel Kurtzer, former US Ambassador to Egypt and Israel.
In the words of Sharon Unglerleider, who traveled to Sun Valley from Springfield, Oregon: “…What an exciting mountain adventure into contemporary Jewish life. Great leaders came to Sun Valley to study, hike, bike, explore mysticism and Torah, and hear key insights into Israel/Middle East relations from Ambassador Kurtzer. The air was rare, conversations were profound, and new friendships were formed!”
