Gabe Scherzer is a Program Coordinator at the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America. Gabe was born and raised in NYC and has been part of Jewish organizations his whole life.  Prior to joining the Hartman Institute, he lived in Israel as part of the yearlong Nativ College Leadership Program, where he volunteered and attended the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Following this year of learning and Jewish exploration, he studied music at Elon University in North Carolina. During his years at Elon, he held various positions at Hillel, which included leading the MitzVote campaign on campus to boost civic engagement and later serving as president of the Hillel student board. In his free time, Gabe produces music and hosts a weekly music discussion podcast.
