Ari Berkowicz is the Director of Chicago at the Shalom Hartman Institute. Prior to joining Hartman, Ari spent eight years at The iCenter, where he collaborated closely with Jewish educators and institutions to transform their visions into reality through dynamic professional development programs and expert consultation.

After completing a BS in Psychology from the University of Maryland, Ari studied at the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem where he began his journey as a Jewish professional. Upon his return to the States, he studied at Yeshivat Chovevei Torah for a year in their Beit Midrash program. Eager to expand his knowledge and expertise, he pursued a dual degree at NYU, obtaining an MPA-MA in nonprofit management and Hebrew and Judaic studies. Prior to his tenure at The iCenter, Ari served as a Program Executive in the Leadership Engagement Department of UJA-Federation of New York.

Ari lives in Skokie, IL with his wife and their three children.
