David Hartman Receives Top Honor from Reform Movement

Rabbi Prof. David Hartman was honored at the 2013 URJ Biennial in San Diego. SHI and URJ also announced a major initiative to bring iEngage to 30 Reform congregations

 
Rabbi Prof. David Hartman , founder of the Shalom Hartman Institute, who died on Feb. 10, 2013, was honored at the opening session of the URJ Biennial in San Diego on Wednesday, Dec. 11,2013. The video above was prepared in his honor by the Institute and was shown at the conference to an audience of 5,000.
 
Rabbi Hartman received the Alexander M. Schindler Award to World Jewry. It was presented by Rabbi Rick Jacobs, President, Union for Reform Judasim, and was accepted by Rabbi Dr. Donniel Hartman , President of the Shalom Hartman Institute.
