Israeli musician Shlomo Gronich performed a special concert at Shalom Hartman Institute on June 30, 2008, for attendees of the Lay Leadership Summer Retreat program and others.

Rabbi Rachel Sabath Beit-Halachmi , director of the Institute’s Center for Lay Leadership , described Gronich as a leader in the creation of Israel’s musical and textual Jewish renaissance, and as a highly prolific, gifted, multifaceted artist working in many genres.

On the accompanying video, you can watch a snippet of this concert, a masterful five-minute improvisation session featuring Gronich on keyboard and shofar, Hanan Bar-Sela on clarinet, and Erez Mounk on percussion. This video has been viewed thousands of times since it was first posted.
