Judaism and State Policy Center

Strengthening Jewish unity in Israel and the world by reshaping the policies of the State of Israel on issues of State and Judaism.

The Judaism and State Policy Center in Jerusalem promotes the basic values of the State of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state and as a national home for the Jewish people by reshaping policies on issues relating to Judaism and state. The Center advances a liberal and pluralistic agenda through public advocacy, applied research, and issue-specific public campaigns.

The Center identifies, develops, and promotes solutions for issues related to the tension between Judaism and state in Israel, a democratic country with diverse populations. Instead of Judaism being a source of connection and inspiration, Jewish identity has become a cause for struggle, generating social rifts within Israeli society and within the broader Jewish community.

“Our goal is to generate change by creating and establishing new ideas, narratives, and policy directions, and introducing them into Israeli policymaking through actions in the Knesset, local municipalities, and public discourse. Our work equips leading members of Knesset, policymakers, influencers, and activists in the field with the tools for generating a public discourse that promotes liberal Judaism.”Tani Frank, Center Director

By addressing a wide range of topics, including Shabbat in the public sphere, marriage in Israel, who is a Jew, and Judaism in the education system, the Center advances solidarity in Israel and the Jewish people worldwide.

Caucus of Moderate Religious Zionist Knesset Members

Coordinated by journalist and policy strategist Kobi Nachshoni, the Caucus brings together representatives from five political parties or blocs: Likud, Yesh Atid, National Unity, Yisrael Beitainu, and Blue and White, with the goal of developing meaningful political alignment around a values-based, actionable vision for moderate religious Zionism in Israeli public life.
In advance of the 2026 elections, in which the moderate religious public are poised to play a decisive role, this alliance is paving the way for policy collaboration under future governments.
