/ In the Face of Cruelty

We are living through a moment of profound moral urgency in the United States — one in which the treatment of our neighborssignals the erosion of legal and ethical norms.

As American Jews, our history and values demand that we reflect and respond.  Join us for a virtual day of learning with Hartman scholars to examine and respond to this crisis with the power of our ideas.

On March 12, 2026, the Shalom Hartman Institute convened Hartman scholars and guest speakers for public sessions examining the Jewish moral vocabulary of dignity, obligation, and responsibility.
