Tziporah Altman-Shafer has been working in Jewish Education since 1987. She has a bachelor’s degree in Jewish Studies and Women’s Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a master’s degree in Jewish Education from the Cleveland College of Jewish Studies.
She has worked at summer camps, supplementary schools, and day schools. She has been a teacher, a family educator, and a director of education and worked with children from kindergarten through high school and also adults. Four and a half years ago, Tziporah became the Jewish Education Community Planner of Milwaukee Jewish Federation and the Director of Milwaukee’s Coalition for Jewish Learning. She serves as a resource for educators, does teacher training, and works to create partnerships between educational organizations. Tzipi is a graduate of Cohort 8 of the Mandel Teachers Educator Institute (MTEI). She is also developed a program called SHOFAR (Safeguarding Healthy Children and Relationships).
