Director of Hevruta

Tal Naaman is the Director of the Hevruta Gap-Year Program at the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem.

Tal grew up Jerusalem and graduating from the first year of the Hartman Midrashiya High School for Girls. She served for 6 years as an officer in the Education and Youth Corps and commanded a company of soldiers who immigrated from different countries to enlist in the IDF.

Tal holds a bachelor’s degree in humanities and philosophy and Jewish thought from the Shalem Academic Center in Jerusalem. During her time there, Tal helped establish and guide a gay leadership program for young people in preparatory schools and service years.

Tal was a partner in establishing a family business, a chocolate boutique in the Mahane Yehuda Market called Gustel, and serves as a board member at the Open House for Pride and Tolerance in Jerusalem, an organization committed to promoting equality and rights for the LGBT community in Israel and providing a home for members of the community in Jerusalem.

Tal lives with her partner Noam in Jerusalem.
