Shiri Winter-Mersel is Senior Vice President and Chief Executive Officer at the Shalom Hartman Institute, where she shapes strategy and oversees implementation.
As CEO, Shiri is responsible for upgrading financial management, cultivating organizational culture, developing and modifying educational programs, growing donor partnerships, expanding and improving infrastructure, and implementing data systems for core activities and support. She leads cross-organizational initiatives and processes, as well as strategic partnerships with NGOs and business leaders.
In her previous roles in finance and in the public sector, she worked at the Prime Minister’s Office, the Knesset, and the Institute for Advanced Strategic and Political Studies.
Winter-Mersel holds a BA (with honors) in Economy and Sociology, and an MA in Economics and Business Management from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Shiri serves on the Board of the Hebrew University Secondary School “Leyada” and is involved in various social initiatives. In her spare time, she is a long-distance runner.
Shiri was born in Kibbutz Dafna in the Upper Galilee and grew up in Carmiel. After serving as an officer in the IDF Education Corps, she moved to Jerusalem, where she currently lives with her three children.
