Rabbi Scott Westle is a member of Cohort II of the Created Equal Educators Fellowship of the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America and is in his seventh year as the rabbi-in-residence of Heschel, a community Jewish Day School in Northridge, CA. Scott was ordained by the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies at the AJU in 2014; previously he earned a BA in International Security and Conflict Resolution from San Diego State University and learned at Pardes and the Conservative Yeshiva in Jerusalem. Scott has worked for various Jewish organizations in his twenty years in southern California, including shuls, Camp Ramah and Hillel at UCLA. Scott has served on the founding board of directors of the Pico Union Project (where he still leads High Holiday services) and currently sits on the board of Hillel818. Scott subscribes to the New Yorker, loves his Los Angeles Chargers, and cannot wait to see his favorite band Phish live in person again.
