Ora Shapiro is the Administrative Coordinator of the Hevruta Gap Year Program. She was born in Belarus and made Aliya from New York in 2012.
Since making Aliya Ora has worked in the field of public diplomacy, the last 6 years as a tour guide with various groups from all over the world. She has worked in the field of informal education guiding numerous Taglit Birthright and Masa groups from Germany, Austria, England, Russia and the United States. She is a licensed guide in Yad Vashem, the Holocaust History Museum. In addition, Ora works as a translator for German newspapers and has appeared on TV.
Ora received an MA in Government, Diplomacy and Conflict Studies from the Interdisciplinary Center, Herzliya, a BA in Translation and Interpretation from the Vienna University in Austria, and BA in German Language and Literature from Hunter College in New York.
In her free time Ora loves learning about Judaism, Jewish history, and Jewish identity. Two years ago, she finished Elul program of the Midrasha Beit Prat. She also loves dancing and travelling, and has hiked the Israel National Trail from Eilat to Mount Hermon.
