David

Barak-Gorodetsky

Fellow

Rabbi David Barak-Gorodetsky, PhD, is a Fellow of the Kogod Research Center. His research interests include pre-state and early-state Israeli history, Jewish-American history and religious thought, political theology and post-secularism. He was ordained by Hebrew Union College in Jerusalem and served as a regional Rabbi in the Ramat Hanegev regional council.

His manuscript, Judah Magnes: The Prophetic Politics of a Religious Binationalist, is forthcoming (November 2021) with the Jewish Publication Society and University of Nebraska Press. In addition, he has published articles on Israeli political history, the acceptance of the Reform Movement in Israel, and Israel/Jewish Diaspora relations. David teaches Jewish-American history at the Ruderman MA Program at the University of Haifa and is the incoming director of the program.
