Teen Program Coordinator

Amalya Sherman (pronouns:she/her) is a Program Coordinator at the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America.

Amalya comes to Hartman with a background in education and facilitation. She served as a high school English teacher in Memphis, TN through Teach for America, and regularly facilitates Torah + Art workshops. She has facilitated community painting workshops across the country. Amalya also worked at the Smithsonian Institute’s Hirshhorn Museum where she developed and executed public tours.

Amalya earned her BA in Studio Art from the University of Maryland in 2016, with a concentration in Graphic Design. After college, she spent a year studying Torah at Yeshivat Hadar. Amalya enjoys painting, reading and spending time with loved ones.
