Alex Bailey Dillon (pronouns: they/them/theirs) is a Program Associate at Shalom Hartman Institute of North America, supporting Rabbinic Programs, the Muslim Leadership Initiative, and podcasts. They earned their BA in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
Alex came to the Shalom Hartman Institute from a career in theatre. They apprenticed in stage management at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago and have worked with a number of Bay Area theatres including the San Francisco Playhouse and the Bay Area Children’s Theatre. Alex has also worked four Edinburgh Festival Fringes, the largest annual performing arts festival in the world.
Alex spends their free time studying Talmud in chevruta, coordinating the greeters at their shul, Congregation Netivot Shalom, and reading plays for the Berkeley Repertory Theatre.
