Hevruta Leadership

Leadership: Hevruta is committed to developing and supporting young Jewish leaders who are prepared to make a difference in their local communities. Students contribute meaningfully to Jerusalem society, applying lessons from the classroom to internship responsibilities and volunteer commitments. Hevruta students are placed across a range of civil society organizations in Jerusalem, where they intern weekly in fields such as religion and state, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, minority rights in Israel, sustainability, environmental issues, and more. In addition, participants volunteer weekly with marginalized populations in Jerusalem—including children with special needs, the elderly, asylum seekers, war evacuees, and families receiving social welfare—dedicating their time to support and strengthen their local community. Students also prepare for the independence of college and adulthood by living in apartments, taking responsibility for their food budgets, and planning and leading programming for one another.
