Dr. Masua Sagiv is a Senior Faculty member of the Shalom Hartman Institute based in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Koret Visiting Assistant Professor of Jewish and Israel Studies at the Helen Diller Institute, U.C. Berkeley. Masua’s scholarly work focuses on the development of contemporary Judaism in Israel, as a culture, religion, nationality, and as part of Israel’s identity as a Jewish and democratic state. A conversation among Israelis, Palestinians, and others who care deeply about the region who both reject the status quo but also reject division and polarization. Supported by the work of the OneVoice Movement, these peacemakers advocate for a shared future that unlocks the full potential of both peoples. They also seek to empower voices that foster depolarization in in the discourse about the region in the United States in order build support for the notion that Israeli-Palestinian coexistence is possible.
