Join us for an evening with Flora Cassen, Hartman Senior Fellow and Lavine Family Director of the Brandeis Center for Jewish Studies and the Sarnat Center for the Study of Anti-Jewishness, celebrating her new book, Stained Glass: A Reflective History of Antisemitism.

Blending memoir, family history, and historical analysis, Cassen traces Jewish life in Europe from the medieval period through the Holocaust and into the present, examining how enduring myths and prejudices continue to shape Jewish experience. Drawing on her upbringing in Antwerp and her family’s history, the book offers a deeply personal and rigorous exploration of antisemitism across time and place.

Cassen will be in conversation with Arno Rosenfeld, a reporter at the Forward and author of the Antisemitism Decoded newsletter. Together, they will explore the historical roots and contemporary realities of antisemitism, followed by time for community conversation and reflection.
