The events of October 7 and their aftermath – indefinite war in Israel, the shifts in international public opinion about the conflict, the crisis on campus – have sent seismic shockwaves throughout the Jewish community. We have seen both a surge in participation and engagement in Jewish life, and a renegotiation of the boundaries of our ‘big tent.’ At times it has seemed as though we are being asked to renegotiate or rethink essential commitments of modern Jewish life.

As we approach the anniversary of that catastrophic day, join Yehuda Kurtzer at Congregation Rodeph Shalom in Philadelphia to explore what we have we learned since October 7. What are the major conceptual challenges that our community now faces? And what will take for us to emerge from this prolonged crisis with greater resolve and resilience?
