Modern Hebrew Poetry: The Stammering Child’s Revenge (Session 2)

Ronny Somek was an important contemporary Israeli poet and graphic artist who stammered as a child. Born in Bagdad he made Aliya with his family at a young age. The hardships of the early years are reflected in his poetry; his sensitive eyes and ears see the multiple facets of Israeli society, speaking the truth even when it hurts.

This session with Rachel Korazim will include a close reading of poems by Ronny Somek as well as live music.

Session one takes place on Tues, December 1
