Teshuva in tough times: Hartman explores the high holidays
As we enter a new year after a particularly challenging one, we have a glimpse of better times ahead, but we know there is more work to be done. How we deal with crisis, what we expect from our leaders and from ourselves, what Jewish texts and tradition teach us about dealing with crisis. These are the themes of our special content section for the Yamim Noraim (Days of Awe). Click on the links below to sample our offerings for you. Our High Holidays Guide also features a new VIDEO from Donniel Hartman on the politics of teshuvah in Israel.
Get a direct view of how the students at Shalom Hartman Boys High School are helping Jerusalemites get through tough times by seeing photographs and reading about the Rosh Hashana food distribution program - more than 1,000 boxes to more than 300 families. Click here for pictures and an article.
In addition, our website is packed with additional material of use, as well as a powerful new presentation related to the theme of coping with the tough times: Learn about our new Lecture Series on DVD: "Leadership and Crisis: Jewish Resources and Responses," a series of eight lectures and supplementary material designed for use in adult and leadership education courses at synagogues and community centers.
