This is great! Many people feel that the belief of the Messiah and the resurrection existing in many ancient cultures before the birth of Yeshua/Jesus, (as he is now called) disproves the validity of the account. I find just the opposite in that because the story predates the birth of Yeshua/Jesus, it is NOT a myth, but a truth that has existed, and has been told over and over since the beginning of time- the story of the incarnation of the Son of our Creator, for the redemption of ALL mankind.

Messiah`s task
This find is great - very exciting. It confirms for me [as a Christian] what I have always known/believed. I have always known that the suffering servant motif matched political events after the fall of the two kingdoms - the prophecies looked forward to the new kingdom being restored through the messiah. I understood the kingdom to be a spiritual one [not a concrete one i.e a piece of land called "Israel"] Otherwise I wouldn`t be a member! We were taught that the new church was the new Israel/people of God = all the people now connected to God through the spirit of Jesus. [A spiritual group, not any particular earthly institution - of whatever denomination.] As a result of all this, it is no problem to see the reason for the Messiah`s death as being BOTH: for the sins of the people AND to bring redemption to Israel. P.s.I take the N.T. at face value - I don`t assume it was rigged! I believe that how it [the text] worked out was the best result for our edification - because God`s spirit arranged it that way. Another Aspect on This Biblical Stone
I found your article about this ancient tablet quite interesting. Regardless on what this stone facts supposedly contains on this issue: I do have a living eyewitness to the historical man commonly known today as Jesus the Christ. While I cannot describe in detail, at this moment, everything this living eyewitness recalls of this real Jesus Christ; I fully intend to someday. For more details, keep checking back my blog (at http://www.Ben-Abba.com) or my first book on this incredible man`s eyewitness accounts of 2,800 years of history (at http://Secrets-of-an-Immortal.com).
