International Law. A) Israel`s territorial boundaries were declared May 14th 1948, in order for it to become a Sovereign State. http://avalon.law.yale.edu/20th_century/decad169.asp B) No territory has ever been legally annexed to Israel. http://tinyurl.com/y8ewves/myths-mis-conceptions-propaganda/#northern-border C) Israeli Civil Law does not apply in illegally annexed territories (East Jerusalem) or "territories occupied" //Laws of War Art. 55. “The occupying State shall be regarded only as administrator and usufructuary of public buildings, real estate, forests, and agricultural estates belonging to the hostile State, and situated in the occupied country. It must safeguard the capital of these properties, and administer them in accordance with the rules of usufruct.// D) Israel has been exceeding it`s Sovereign territory for 61 years, dispossessing, displacing. E) The US veto vote in the UNSC has only stopped legitimate action being taken against Israel. The laws still stand, Israel is still in breach.

In the Midst of the Freeze
I notice in comments critical of Israel only broad statements of Israeli intransience is written. Never the reason why !!

Stasis
This is a better description of the status quo of the government of Netanyahu. His cost benefit analysis includes: how long he can stay in power without rocking the boat of his coalition;erasing the memory of what he said when he was last Prime Minister - that the dream of the Greater Land of Israel is dead;that the political and financial costs of "de-occupation" are far too big; that international opprobrium is a cheap price to pay for not de-occupying; that Jewish peoplehood is notional and neither he nor Israel owes anything to anyone least of all the rest of the Jewish world. Netanyahu is an artist with semantics. How many people have met him and said he really means he wants peace? And still what we have is Bibi being Bibi. Ultimately and as usual innocent Israelis and Palestinians will have to pay for the stasis he has so cleverly produced.

Settlement Freeze Bad for Everyone
All this settlement freeze does is put 35,000 Palestinians out of work. They cannot feed their families. Is this good for peace or Palestine? Everybody should agree to expand construction and let those who wish to live in Palestine stay under Palestinian rule (except Maale Adumim, Ariel and Etzion Areas) Trade some land. Let Palestine declare their state and move forward. There is no leadership in Israel or Palestine. This is the tragedy.
